Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department’s Hit and Run Unit arrested 28-year-old Jesse McLemore for the crash that killed 39-year-old Ryan Ziemer.
The crash occurred in the 1100 block of Norton Avenue in the early morning hours of Friday, March 11, 2016.
Just before 3:30 a.m., officers were sent to the 1100 blk. of Norton Ave. reference a single vehicle crash with possible injuries. When officers arrived, they found a black SUV in the front yard of 1135 Norton Ave., occupied by two passengers, one of which was unresponsive. The SUV had sustained significant damage to the passenger side from what appeared to be the SUV striking a brick pillar. EMS personnel arrived and pronounced the male passenger deceased at the scene. The second passenger was transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital in serious but stable condition.
