IMPD investigating person shot on the West side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers responded to a call of a person shot and located a victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Just before 10a.m., IMPD officers were dispatched to 600 block of N Exeter Ave in reference to a person shot. Upon arrival, officers located a young adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound inside the residence. EMS personnel responded and transported the victim to Eskenazi Hospital, in critical condition.

IMPD aggravated assault detectives responded and are actively investigating the incident. Homicide detectives responded to assist in the investigation. Detectives are interviewing witnesses and canvassing the area for additional information. Detectives believe this to be an isolated incident and not a random shooting. Detectives do not have reliable suspect information to release at this time.
