IMPD investigates the shooting death of unidentifed male

INDIANAPOLIS -Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department investigate the shooting death of an unidentified male. This marks the third such shooting incident investigated by the IMPD Homicide Branch since Friday tragically resulting in four fatalities as a result of neglect gunfire.

Just after 5:30 p.m., officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were sent to the 2000 E. 30th Street reference a person shot. When officers arrived they found an unidentified and unresponsive male suffering from at least one gunshot wound. EMS personnel arrived and transported the victim to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition where he was subsequently pronounced deceased by medical staff at the hospital. The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Anthony Morris of Indianapolis.

Detectives canvassed the area for additional information and the Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency processed the scene for forensic evidence.  Detectives have not yet released any details reference a suspect or motive. Once detectives release additional information this release may be updated. Detectives ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317) 262-8477 (TIPS).
