IMPD Homicide Investigators called to 3600 block of N. Mittoefer reference a person shot

INDIANAPOLIS –Just before 10:00 p.m., on January 5, 2018, officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were dispatched to the 3600 block of North Mitthoefer (i.e., Amber Wood Apartments) reference a unresponsive subject on the sidewalk. Officers arrived a short time later and observed an unresponsive male laying near the entrance of the apartments. Officers immediately secured the area around the victim and notified medics. Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) arrived on the scene and pronounced the person deceased at the scene.  Homicide detectives were called to the scene and observed what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the body.

Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist with identifying and collecting potential forensic evidence. The Marion County Coroner’s Office (MCCO
) will be assisting and will determine the exact manner and cause of death after an autopsy is performed.
