IMPD Homicide detectives make an arrest for murder that occurred on Harlan St

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Homicide Detectives arrest Antonio Jones (24) for his alleged involvement in the shooting death of Roberto Cisneros (31) that occurred on 08/06/2018.

Just after 1:30 a.m. on 08/06/2018, officers with the IMPD were dispatched to the 1600 block of Harlan St on reports of a person shot. Responding officers located an unresponsive male victim, later identified as Roberto Cisneros, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. EMS personnel responded and pronounced Cisneros dead on-scene.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene and began gathering witness statements. Through the course of their investigation they learned that Jones and Cisneros had allegedly been involved in a verbal disturbance that ended in gunfire. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to the scene to assist in identifying and collecting potential forensic evidence.

An arrest warrant for murder was issued for Antonio Jones and he was apprehended on 08/22/2018 by the U.S. Marshals. The IMPD would like to thank the U.S. Marshals for their assistance in locating and apprehending the suspect. The IMPD would also like to thank the community for their ongoing support and efforts in helping to make Indianapolis a safer place to live, work, and play!
