IMPD homicide detectives investigating fatal shooting on city’s east-side

INDIANAPOLIS – Just before 8:00 p.m., on January 21, 2018, officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were called to the 7100 Block of Clearvista Drive reference a person shot who had arrived at the Emergency Room for treatment for a gunshot wound.  When officers arrived they located an adult male who appeared to have been shot.  Despite the best life-saving efforts by emergency medical staff, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist with identifying and collecting potential forensic evidence.  The Marion County Coroner’s Office (MCCO) will be assisting and will determine the exact manner and cause of death. The name of the victim can be obtained from the MCCO after proper next-of-kin notification has been made.
