IMPD Homicide Detectives investigating after body found on City’s East side

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) homicide detectives are investigating after body was located in an alley on the City’s East side.

Just after 7 a.m., on 07/06/2016, IMPD officers were dispatched to the 2900 Block of N Denny St on the reports of a body laying in the alley. Officers located a man laying in the alley who was unresponsive. Medics responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The victim was identified as 49-year-old Lee Banyon of Indianapolis.

IMPD homicide detectives responded to the scene to conduct interviews and collect possible evidence. The Marion County Coroner’s Office responded and will determine the exact cause and manner death after an autopsy has been performed.
