IMPD Homicide detectives arrest man for murder on north side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS – On January 13, 2018, at approximately 4:17 a.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were dispatched to the 3700 block of North Wallace Avenue on the report of a call for help.  Upon arrival, officers located a male lying in the street with an apparent gunshot wound.  Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) responded and pronounced the male deceased at the scene.

Detectives arrested 41-year-old Toby George for his involvement in the homicide that occurred in the 3700 block of N. Wallace Avenue during the early morning hours of 1.13.18. Detectives were able to gather information from witnesses and evidence from the scene.  Homicide detectives along with IMPD’s Violent Crimes Unit (VCU), were able to identify and locate a person possibly involved in the shooting.  After completing interviews of witnesses, Homicide detectives arrested Toby George for murder.

The Marion County Prosecutors Office (MCPO) will review the arrest and make final charging decisions.  The name of the victim can be obtained from the Marion County Coroner’s Officer (MCCO) after proper identification and next-of-kin notification.
