IMPD Hit and Run Investigators Seeking Public Assistance

On Saturday, October 20th, 2018 @ approximately 2:15am, Michael Cooper was riding southbound on his bicycle in the 4700 block of N. Meridian Street when he was struck by a vehicle also traveling southbound. 
 Michael Cooper, landed face first on the roadway and suffered serious injuries, he remains in ICU at an area hospital. After the crash, the vehicle that struck Mr. Cooper fled the scene continuing to travel south on Meridian Street without the driver stopping to provide aid or information.  Michael Cooper described the vehicle that struck him as a 2010 or newer white or light colored Ford 4-Door Sedan.

Mr. Cooper also stated a blue car was traveling south next to the light colored vehicle and investigators hope someone in the blue car may have witnessed the crash.  The striking vehicle should have front end damage from the collision with the bicycle. Hit and Run investigators are asking for anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS or the IMPD Accident Investigation office @ 317-327-6549.
