IMPD Detectives Arrest Man For 2021 Homicide

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Homicide detectives arrested 29-year-old Terri Young-Moses for his alleged involvement in the death of 24-year-old Dezmond King.

On Friday, November 26th, 2021, at approximately 1:46 am, IMPD Northwest District officers were dispatched to 5849 Sebring Court on a report of a person shot. When officers arrived, they located an adult male, 24-year-old Dezmond King, outside this location with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound(s). Pike Emergency Medical Services arrived, and unfortunately, the victim was pronounced deceased on scene.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene to begin the investigation. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist in identifying and collecting potential forensic evidence. Following the autopsy by the Marion County Coroner’s Office this was determined to be a homicide.

Homicide detectives continued their investigation and were able to identify Terri Young-Moses as the alleged suspect. On January 30th, 2024, the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office charged Young-Moses with murder, armed robbery, unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, and criminal recklessness. On January 31st, Young-Moses was served in court with an arrest warrant for his alleged role in this case. He was already in custody on an unrelated offense in a separate case. The Marion County Prosecutors Office will make the final charging decisions.

A charge is merely an accusation, and the suspect is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
