I-70, I-465 Ramp Closures for Pavement Repairs

INDIANAPOLIS – Calumet Civil Contractors plan to close various ramps at the I-70 and Holt Road (exit 77) and Meridian Street (exit 79B) interchanges and I-465 and State Road 67/Kentucky Avenue (exit 8) interchange for patching and resurfacing.

I-70 and Holt Road Closures and Restrictions

Construction will be completed in two phases. Two interchange ramps will remain open at a time. Holt Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Traffic will be shifted throughout construction in order to complete work and maintain access. Traffic will be detoured to adjacent interchanges during ramp closures.

I-70 and Illinois Street Ramp Closure

Crews will close the Illinois Street ramp from I-70 East. During the Illinois Street ramp closure, access to the Meridian Street exit ramp will remain open.

I-465 and SR 67/Kentucky Avenue Ramp Closures

The first round of ramp closures for the exit 8 interchange will begin with I-465 westbound exit ramp to Kentucky Avenue and Kentucky Avenue entrance ramp to I-465 eastbound.

Crews will then close Kentucky Avenue entrance ramp to I-465 westbound for phase two.

Finally, I-465 eastbound exit ramp to Kentucky Avenue will be closed for phase three. Loop ramps during Phase II and III will not be closed at the same time.

These closures will take place overnights and weekends between June and September 2018.

The project will begin on or after June 8, weather permitting, and will be finished by fall 2018.
