I-65 and US 52 interchange ramp closures begin July 9

BOONE COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces the U.S. 52 ramp to
I-65 southbound and the I-65 northbound exit ramp to U.S. 52 will close on or after Thursday, July 9 at 4 a.m.. This is for the contractor to rebuild the ramps. The ramps are anticipated to reopen by October 26.  This closure was delayed for approximately one month to install a temporary traffic signal at the
I-65 northbound exit ramp to State Road 47.  The traffic signal will be activated on Monday, July 6.

The detour advises motorists to utilize State Road 47 at Exit 146.  Milestone Contractors L.P. was awarded this contract for $1.9 million.

In 2019, Indiana Criminal Justice Institute reported that distracted driving from mobile devices was a factor in at least 1,263 crashes and three fatal crashes.
