Homicide Investigation Leads to Woman’s Arrest

INDIANAPOLIS – On March 12, 2019, just before 1:00 a.m., officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were dispatched to the 3400 block of N. Edmondson Avenue on a report of a person shot.  When officers arrived, they located an adult male who had been shot. Indianapolis EMS responded and transported the male to an area hospital in critical condition.  Despite the best life-saving efforts by medical staff, the male died from his injuries. 

The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist with identifying and collecting potential forensic evidence. The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified the decedent as 45-year-old Regas Ringo and will determine the exact manner and cause of death. The MCCO will release the name of the victim once proper next-of-kin notification has been made.

Through the course of the investigation, Homicide detectives learned that this shooting was a result of a disturbance which occurred inside the residence.  Detectives identified the alleged suspect involved in the fatal shooting as 33-year-old Adari Williams for her alleged involvement in the homicide.  Williams was arrested and charged with murder.

A charge of a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
