Homicide detectives investigate after a man is found unresponsive in his apartment

IMPDINDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives are investigating after a man is found unresponsive inside his apartment.

On Sunday, just after 2:30 p.m., officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were sent to the 3800 block of North Pennsylvania  Street on an unresponsive male. When officers arrived, inside the apartment they found a 44-year-old man who was not breathing lying on the floor. EMS crews arrived and unfortunately pronounced the victim deceased.

Detectives canvassed the area and determined the victim was found by his roommate just before the roommate called 9-1-1. The roommate is cooperating with investigators and has been questioned by detectives. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency has processed the scene for forensic evidence. A manner and cause of death will be determined by the Marion County Coroner’s Office after an autopsy has been preformed; however it is believed the victim’s death is the result of something other than natural. Detectives have not yet released any other information.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317) 262.8477 (TIPS). Information shared via Crime Stoppers should be considered confidential and anonymous.
