INDIANAPOLIS — Eric Holcomb, candidate for the United States Senate, issued the following statement following news that the United States and world powers have reached a deal with Iran regarding its nuclear program:
“The Devil is in the details.
“Over the course of the next 60 days Congress must closely scrutinize this agreement to ensure it meets the goal of keeping America and our allies safe. And at this point I remain very skeptical.
“Among the questions I would like answered are: How will the billions of dollars Iran receives as part of this deal be used? Is Iran, a known state sponsor of terror, being forced to change their behavior in any way?
“If reports of this agreement are accurate, Iran will no longer be a nuclear threshold nation but a full-fledged nuclear nation. This new reality will create a domino effect in the region as other nations race to pursue arms themselves. That is unacceptable.”
