Hendricks Regional Health is supporting National Nutrition Month

March is National Nutrition Month and Hendricks Regional Health is supporting nutrition across Hendricks County.

Hendricks Regional Health’s registered dietitians strive to provide patients with a healthier eating lifestyle by helping them develop better eating habits, through education, counseling and other services including patient meal service, nutrition education, nutritional assessment and a variety of nutrition programs.

Nutrition staff members are involved with a variety of community-based nutrition education programs, including screenings that are offered on a regular and as-requested basis.

Nutrition counseling is a benefit of many health insurance plans and is a covered service by Medicare for those managing diabetes. Nutrition services are available at the Danville campus and at the Hendricks Regional Health YMCA in Avon.

This NON-Invasive test only takes 10 minutes and will be followed by 20 minutes of nutrition education to help you reach your individual goal.

Bariatrics/Weight Loss

Hendricks Regional Health partners with St. Vincent Bariatric Center of Excellence for bariatric surgery (those with a body mass index above 40, or BMI of 35 or above with one or more obesity-related health conditions) can have pre- and post-operative bariatric services, such as laboratory tests, performed at Hendricks Regional Health.

Surgical candidates must undergo a number of diagnostic tests and procedures, and participate in a medically supervised weight loss program, before proceeding to surgery. The Hendricks Regional Health bariatric and weight loss program is overseen by the physicians of Hendricks Endocrinology and Diabetes Specialists.

  • Who simply want to look and feel better.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels of Hendricks County is a non-profit organization that promotes good health, independence and eases loneliness for homebound seniors in our community. Volunteers deliver meals to those who cannot prepare meals for themselves due to illness, disability or age. A team of registered dietitians at Hendricks Regional Health create a 7 week rotating menu to ensure variety. Meals are prepared by Hendricks Regional kitchen staff while the meals are distributed throughout the community by volunteer drivers.
