Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office Investigates Death of a Lizton Man in Tractor Accident

NORTH SALEM – On 11/14/2024 at approximately 7:30pm Hendricks County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the report of a DOA in the 4300 Block of North SR 75 just south of North Salem.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a witness observed his neighbor’s tractor running with the headlights on, but no one was visible on the seat of the tractor operating it.  When the witness went to investigate, he observed an unresponsive man stuck underneath the frame of the tractor.  The witness immediately dialed 911 for help, but the man, who was later identified as Benjamin Love, 49, of Lizton was pronounced dead at the scene.  (For clarification purposes, Mr. Love was the owner of the property where the incident occurred; however, he and his family were still residing near Lizton while they prepared to establish residency at the North Salem property.)

The Hendricks County Sheriff’s and Coroner’s Offices are investigating the incident.  No foul play is suspected at this time.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Mr. Love as they continue to navigate the tragic loss of their loved one.
