Hendricks County Burn Ban Now in Effect

The county commissioners determined the risk for fires due to drought conditions was high enough to issue a Disaster Declaration, effective today, September 19th, 2024.

This will remain in effect for the next 7 days! They will review the situation next Thursday, September 26th to see if it shall remain in effect.

Here are some things you should NOT be doing during this time:

No outdoor burning

– Avoid bonfires, campfires, or any type of open burn.

No use of Fireworks

– Fireworks can easily ignite vegetation, increasing the risk of a wildfire.

Do not discard cigarettes carelessly

– Always fully extinguish smoking materials and dispose of them safely, preferably in a water filled container.
