Dr. Scott Syverson Plans to Retire as NWHSC Superintendent

Tuesday evening, Dr. Scott Syverson announced his retirement as Superintendent of North West Hendricks Schools effective at the end of the 2024-2025 school year. Dr. Syverson has served our school community with dedication for the past 5 years marked by a series of successes that have profoundly impacted our students, staff, and community.

Dr. Syverson ends his 34 years in education leaving a legacy of academic excellence, considerable facility upgrades, and enhanced technology infrastructure. These improvements solidify the strategic plan that he began when he first arrived at NWHSC and have provided countless students and staff with additional opportunities over the past 5 years.  

“As I step down from my role, I do so with confidence that the district is on a strong and positive trajectory. The achievements we have made together are a source of immense pride and are a testament to what can be accomplished when we unite with a shared vision and purpose. I am deeply grateful for the support and collaboration of the school board members who have served during my tenure, our dedicated staff, our wonderful students, and our supportive community. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve North West Hendricks Schools as your Superintendent.”

School Board President Joe Brooks, added “I truly believe the success of the students at NWHSC are at the forefront of all of Dr. Syverson’s decisions. Every conversation that I have had with him has always been focused on what is best for our students. We are grateful for his service.”
