INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Revenue (DOR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Commissioner Adam Krupp to serve as Secretary on the Board of Trustees for the Federation of Tax Administrators (FTA). Indiana has not had an individual selected to serve on the board since 2005.
“I am honored to be elected to FTA’s Board of Trustees by my peers from around the country, several of whom I have gotten to know personally and look up to as experts in this field,” said Commissioner Krupp. “It is certainly a privilege to be an officer among this group of leaders performing public service day in and day out. One of my goals is to represent Indiana proudly on behalf of our entire team here at DOR.”
FTA is a national organization bringing together leaders to improve the quality of state tax administration through interstate collaboration by representing all 50 states and several municipalities.
FTA officers are nominated through FTA’s Nominations Committee, which is comprised of members from each of the four geographic regions (Northeast, Southeast, Midwest and West). Nominees are then approved by the board. Upon approval, all FTA members vote for their candidate. Officers are elected for one-year terms; board members for two-year terms.
As an officer of FTA, Commissioner Krupp will:
- Provide guidance and direction to FTA staff.
- Review and approve the FTA annual operating budget.
- Create resolutions, which represent FTA’s official position on federal legislation.
- Interact with agencies such as the Internal Revenue Service to review forms.
