Donnelly Receives Guardian of Small Business Award

Washington, D.C. – Today, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) presented its Guardian of Small Business Award to U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly in recognition of his work on policies that support small businesses in Indiana and across the country. Earlier this year, Donnelly received the Spirit of Enterprise Award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for his support of policies that encourage economic growth and job creation.

Donnelly, who is a former small business owner, said, “Small businesses are a cornerstone of Indiana’s economy, employing nearly half our workers and driving job creation and opportunity. It is an honor to receive this award from the National Federation of Independent Businesses. I will continue working to ensure that small businesses have opportunities to grow and expand because their success is the foundation of success for communities and neighborhoods across the country.”

NFIB President and CEO Juanita Duggan said, “Many elected officials claim that they are champions of small business, but our Guardian Award shows our members and other small business owners who is really fighting for them. Based on his voting record, Sen. Donnelly is one of the most reliable advocates for small business in Washington. NFIB is honored to present Sen. Donnelly with this award.”
