Detectives with IMPD Homicide Unit investigate a shooting that killed one man

IMPDINDIANAPOLIS – Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Homicide Unit investigate after a man is shot and killed and another man is taken into custody for questioning.

Just after 9:00 a.m., officers were sent to the 1100 block of Centennial Street reference a person shot. When officers arrived, they found 42-year-old Jason Breeden of Indianapolis lying on the front porch of a residence suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS crews arrived and pronounced the victim deceased.

Officers quickly detained a unidentified and cooperative involved male and recovered a handgun near the scene. Detectives plan to question the involved person at IMPD Headquarters about his alleged involvement. Although no arrest have occurred detectives are not searching for any suspects. Detectives again suspect that an on-going disturbance might have led up to this shooting.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department would like to remind everyone if you see tempers flaring beyond normal, please call 9-1-1 as soon as possible to avoid possible tragic outcomes.
