INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of an unidentified male.
IMPD officers were dispatched in reference to shots fired with a male lying in the street, shortly after midnight, in the 9800 block of Lake Terrace South Dr, which is located near E 21st St and Mithoefer Rd. Upon arrival, officers located the male with at least one gunshot wound. EMS personnel pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. IMPD homicide detectives responded and canvassed the area for witnesses and additional evidence. Homicide detectives have not released a possible motive or suspect information for this incident.
The Marion County-Indianapolis Forensic Services Agency responded to the scene to collect possible forensic evidence. The victim will be positively identified by the Marion County Coroner’s Office. Upon notification of the victim’s next-of-kin, his name will be made public.
