Criminal Homicide being investigated by IMPD detectives on the city’s East side

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of an unidentified male.

IMPD officers were dispatched in reference to multiple shots fired, at approximately 2:20p.m., in the 3300 block of N Denny St, which is located near E 34th St and Sherman Dr. Upon arrival, officers located an unidentified male with at least one gunshot wound. EMS personnel pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.  IMPD homicide detectives responded and are actively canvassing the area for witnesses and additional evidence. Homicide detectives have not released a possible motive or suspect information for this incident.

The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency are responding to the scene to collect possible forensic evidence. The victim will be positively identified by the Marion County Coroner’s Office.  Upon notification of the victim’s next-of-kin, his name will be made public.  Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317)262-TIPS (8477). Information may be given anonymously.
