Coats: Allow Up-or-Down Vote on Iran Deal

WASHINGTON, DC – Senator Dan Coats (R-Ind.) today issued the following statement calling on Senate Democrats to allow an up-or-down vote on the resolution of disapproval on President Obama’s Iran deal:

“If President Obama’s Iran deal is as good as its supporters claim it is, why are Senate Democrats unwilling to allow an up-or-down vote? After a weekend back home, my hope is that Senate Democrats will hear from their constituents and allow an up-or-down vote on President Obama’s Iran deal this week. An issue of this magnitude deserves a vote in the world’s greatest deliberative body.”

Last week, Senate Democrats blocked a straight up-or-down vote on the Iran Nuclear Agreement Resolution of Disapproval.
