Cloverdale Man Arrested for Child Molestation

Putnam County— Indiana State Police Detectives from the Putnamville Post arrested a Cloverdale man for sexual violations related to a young girl known to the family.

Arrested:          Daniel C. Stevens, age 70, of Cloverdale, IN.

Charges:           One count of Child Molesting (felony)

The incident began on January 14, 2016 when the Putnam County Department of Child Services were notified of the alleged sexual improprieties.  During the ensuing investigation, investigators were able to establish probable cause that on multiple occasions during the year 2015, Daniel Stevens engaged in sexual relations with the then 12-year-old victim.

The case was investigated by ISP Detective Don Curtis. Assisting at various times were ISP Detectives First Sergeant Jason Fajt and Sergeant Sam Stearley, ISP Crime Scene Investigator Sergeant Jim Cody, Master Trooper DuJuan Presley-McFadden, Putnam County Department of Child Services, and Susie’s Place Child Advocacy Center in Avon, IN.
