Fireworks will light the night sky in Brownsburg on July 4, but the beloved Brownsburg Lions Club July 4th Extravaganza at Arbuckle Acres Park and the parade through Town have been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.
“On behalf of the Brownsburg Lions Club, we want to thank our community for supporting us over the years during the July 4th Extravaganza and July 4th parade,” said member Nick Xinopoulos. “Nothing makes us happier than to see people young and old enjoying the July 4th celebration. Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus and social distancing restrictions, we made the decision to cancel both activities for everyone’s safety.”
This year’s light show will be launched at approximately 10 pm from Brownsburg Parks’ Tague property at 315 W. Main St. Spectators will not be allowed to gather at that site. Instead, guests are directed to view the show from Arbuckle Acres Park, where the Indy Jazz Orchestra will perform patriotic and jazz standards beginning at 7:45 pm. Another great viewing site is Town Hall Green at 61 N. Green St.
“Even though we are in the midst of COVID-19, Town leadership couldn’t imagine July 4 without fireworks,” said Town Manager Jeff Eder. “Arbuckle Acres Park provides a great venue for spectators to social distance from one another while enjoying the concert and fireworks display the Parks Department has arranged. We’re very pleased to offer this opportunity to our residents to celebrate our country safely.”
Parking will be available at Arbuckle Acres Park, Town Hall (including the public lot on the
corner of Adams and Vermont streets) and the garage at The Arbuckle.
