MORGAN COUNTY, Ind.— INDOT contractor Force Construction plans to conduct beam setting operations next week on S.R. 67 over the Little White Lick Creek bridges in Mooresville. Intermittent closures are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday night (April 7-8) near the S.R. 144 intersection.
Traffic will be stopped in 20-minute intervals beginning at 10 p.m. each night. Southbound beams will be set on Tuesday and northbound on Wednesday. Beam setting operations are expected to be complete by 2 a.m. each morning.
Drivers are encouraged to seek an alternate route to avoid delays if possible. Law enforcement will be on site to assist with the closures.
Force Construction began the $4.1 million superstructure replacement project in November, which also includes concrete patching and joint repair. Additional beams will be set later this year following completion of the first half of the bridges. The entire project is expected to be complete this fall.
Motorists should slow down, use extra caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones. Due to the project’s close proximity to a railroad crossing, motorists should also avoid stopping on the tracks. All work is weather dependent.
