Banks Attends VA Mission Act Bill Signing at the White House

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Jim Banks (IN-03), a member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, attended President Trump’s bill signing of the VA Mission Act at the White House.

“Today is a huge win for our veterans,” said Banks. “I was proud to support this legislation in Congress and to stand by the president as he signed it into law. While there is more work ahead to ensure our veterans get the quality, timely care they deserve, I am immensely proud of the work we’ve accomplished to support our nation’s heroes.”

The VA Mission Act of 2018:

  • Makes the Choice Program permanent;
  • Consolidates 7 duplicative community care programs into 1 cohesive program;
  • Creates a transparent process for a comprehensive audit of VA’s assets;
  • Expands the VA’s capacity to care for veterans in VA facilities by improving recruitment and retention programs.
