DANVILLE, IN (May 22, 2025) – Renowned artists from across the country and world will begin transforming Hendricks County communities next month as part of the first-ever Hues of Hendricks County Public Art Initiative.
This ambitious project, a partnership between the Hendricks County Arts Collective and Visit Hendricks County, will bring five vibrant public art installations to communities across the county, enhancing cultural pride, fostering community engagement and revitalizing public spaces.
“This project is more than just public art — it’s about celebrating community identity, sparking curiosity and encouraging people to explore places they might not otherwise visit,” said Anne Johansson, project lead for the Arts Collective. “It’s been inspiring to watch these towns come together in support of creativity.”
Hues of Hendricks County marks the first county-wide art installation series of its kind in the county. It spans five towns and showcases five different artists and perspectives. Each work of art will be deeply connected to its location in unique ways.
Artists will begin painting next month. To celebrate this historic initiative, a public event called Hues Fest will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 21 at each site except Plainfield. This one-day, self-guided festival showcasing new murals will include opportunities to meet the artists, get autographs, enjoy music and more.
