Hendricks County Community Foundation Announces $21,358 Grant to Hendricks County 4H Super Sale Fund

The Hendricks County Community Foundation is proud to announce a $21,358 grant from the North Salem State Bank Heritage Fund, a Stronger Together Fund at HCCF, to the Hendricks County 4-H and Agri Fair Association. This grant will directly support the Hendricks County 4-H Super Sale Fund, an impactful initiative designed to champion youth development, agriculture education, and leadership training across our county.

The Super Sale Fund recognizes the intense, year-long commitment of 4-H members who participate in the annual Livestock Super Sale. The Super Sale Fund ensures financial support is distributed evenly among participating 4-H’ers, helping offset their project expenses while rewarding dedication to animal care, recordkeeping, and showmanship. The grant will help strengthen donor participation, increase total funds available for youth, and ensure all Super Sale participants benefit from the event’s success.

The North Salem State Bank Heritage Fund, a Stronger Together Fund, was established at HCCF by North Salem State Bank in 2025 to provide flexible support for charitable opportunities throughout Hendricks County. As an unrestricted endowed fund, gifts to the fund qualified for a 2-to-1 match through HCCF’s Stronger Together campaign, increasing the long-term resources available to support projects such as this one.

“This grant from the NSSB Heritage Fund at HCCF is an investment in our youth and the future of agriculture in Hendricks County,” said Melissa Sexton, Treasurer, Hendricks County 4-H Fair Board. “The Super Sale Fund helps ensure every participating 4-H member is recognized for their hard work, while continuing to grow community support for our livestock programs. We are grateful for HCCF’s partnership in helping make the Super Sale accessible and impactful for our youth and community.”

“The energy and commitment our local 4-H youth bring to the fair every single summer is truly inspiring,” said William Rhodehamel, President and CEO of the Hendricks County Community Foundation. “Through the North Salem State Bank Heritage Fund, we are proud to support an initiative that rewards their hard work and ensures every participant feels the backing of their community. This grant reflects what Stronger Together is all about—neighbors investing in young people and building a stronger Hendricks County for generations to come.”

The Livestock Super Sale will take place on Friday, July 24, 2026, during the Hendricks County 4-H Fair, which runs from July 19 to July 25. The fund utilizes a unique, community-driven model to maximize support.

This grant reflects the power of unrestricted charitable funds to respond to community needs. Gifts to Stronger Together Funds like the NSSB Heritage Fund currently qualify for a 2-to-1 match through Lilly Endowment’s GIFT IX initiative, tripling the impact of each new dollar invested in Hendricks County.   Contact the Hendricks County Community Foundation at info@hendrickscountycf.org to make a gift and maximize support for local youth and community programs.
