IMPD officers apprehend three juvenile robbery suspects on the city’s East side after they allegedly rob a local business

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers arrest three juvenile suspects in connection with an armed robbery at the Family Dollar on the East side of Indianapolis.

Shortly after 9:15 a.m., IMPD officers were dispatched to the Family Dollar located in the 3800 block of N German Church Rd, in reference to an armed robbery that had just occurred. A description of the suspects and the suspect vehicle were broadcast over the police radio. Alert officers observed the vehicle in close proximity to the Family Dollar and attempted to make a traffic stop, at which time the suspects fled. A short vehicle pursuit ensued and officers, in a coordinated effort with Lawrence Police Department (LPD) officers, were able to make apprehension in the 3500 block of Alpine Pl. without incident. IMPD Robbery detectives responded to the scene and are continuing the investigation.

The three juvenile suspects will be preliminarily charged with Robbery with the possibility of additional charges related to this incident forthcoming. The case will be screened by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office (MCPO) for a charging decision.
