Two watercraft collide on Cedar Lake in Lake County

Cedar Lake, IN – Indiana Conservation Officers are conducting an investigation after two personal watercraft (PWC) collided on Cedar Lake near Pine Crest Marina around 3:15 p.m. 

Joshua Cambria, age 26, of Chicago, was operating a PWC when he was struck by another PWC operated by his friend, Slawomir Kobylarczyk, age 40, of Burbank, who was operating that PWC in the same area.

Cambria was taken to Franciscan Health Hospital in Crown Point and then transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center Hospital in Oak Lawn for continued treatment. Cambria suffered serious arm and leg injuries as a result of the accident.

Alcohol was not a factor in the collision. The incident is still under investigation at this time.  

Assisting agencies were Cedar Lake Fire Department, Cedar Lake EMS, and Cedar Lake Police Department.
