One Person Killed in Single Vehicle Crash along I-70

Indianapolis, IN – This afternoon, just after 2 o’clock, emergency crews were called to I-70 westbound near the 83 mile marker for reports of a single vehicle crash. When emergency medical crews arrived they found an adult male unconscious and unresponsive. The male was transported to the hospital where he later died.

Investigating Officers believe the vehicle left the roadway, lost control, came back onto the roadway before running off the road again and colliding with a concrete wall. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this crash. There were no other vehicles involved and there were no other passengers inside the vehicle.

The westbound lanes of I-70 were affected for over two hours while the crash was investigated and the vehicle was removed. The identity of the deceased is being withheld until the family has time to make proper notifications.
