Suspicious person investigation leads to serial robbery arrest

INDIANAPOLIS- On April 13, 2019 28-year-old Anthony Johnson of Indianapolis, was arrested  after a suspicious person run by officers with The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD).  Johnson was found to be wanted for a parole violation for previous robberies involving a knife.  Anthony Johnson matched the physical description of a serial robbery suspect where a knife was also used.

Johnson was interviewed by Detectives from IMPD and Lawrence  Police Department (LPD) at the Marion County Jail. During the interview, Johnson confessed to all of the robberies below:

Circle K- 2485 Post Road
Thortons Gas – 7020 Pendleton Pike – LPD
Easy Pawn – 3376 W. 10th St. 
Family Dollar- 6030 E. 21st St. 
Payless Liquors- 3739 N. Shadeland Ave. 
Get-n-Go – 5201 N. Keystone Ave. 

A charge of a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
