INDIANAPOLIS –On Wednesday, March 21, 2018, just before 3:00 a.m., officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were dispatched to 255 W. Morris Street on a report of a disturbance.
Officers arrived and immediately located a victim with an apparent gunshot wound. Indianapolis EMS responded to the scene. Despite the best life-saving efforts by emergency medical personnel, the male succumbed to his injuries on scene.
Homicide detectives were called to the scene and immediately began investigating the circumstances prior his death. Investigators learned an altercation began inside the business then spilled outside. The victim was shot by a suspect who remained on scene. At this time, this case is classified as a death investigation.
The Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist with identification and collecting potential forensic evidence. The Marion County Coroner’s Office (MCCO) will be assisting and will determine the exact manner and cause of death. The name of the victim can be obtained from the MCCO after proper next-of-kin notification has been made.
