Two Vehicle Crash on I-465 Claims the
Life of an Indianapolis Man

(Indianapolis, IN)-The Indiana State Police is investigating a two vehicle crash which occurred earlier Friday afternoon on I-465 in which a man from Indianapolis was killed.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Mike Risley indicates at approximately 2:40 p.m., a 2018 Ford Transit van driven by 53 year old James W. Simison of Indianapolis was exiting onto Southeastern Avenue from southbound I-465.

Simison’s vehicle then struck the rear of a slow moving semi-trailer being pulled by a 2020 Peterbilt semi-tractor driven by 40 year old Eduardo Martinez Escobedo from Mexico.  As a result of the crash, Simison suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marion County Coroner’s Office.  His family has been notified.  Escobedo was not injured.

Drugs or alcohol are not suspected and this crash remains under investigation.  There is no additional information to release.
