Two injured in watercraft collision on Morse Reservoir

Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a boating accident that occurred yesterday evening on Morse Reservoir in Hamilton County.

At approximately 8:47 p.m., responders were called to the 21000 block of Waterscape Way regarding a collision with injuries between two personal watercrafts (PWC).

Responders located Gregory Thomas, age 19, of Noblesville, who was suffering from severe head and facial injuries. Thomas was transported to Riverview Hospital and then flown to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. The other operator, Aiden Hobbs, age 18, of Noblesville, was not injured.

Initial investigation showed that Thomas and Hobbs were operating separate PWCs and jumping the wake of another boat when Hobbs went airborne and landed on top of Thomas. Alcohol is believed to be a factor.

Indiana Conservation Officers remind boaters that is unlawful to jump the wake of another boat due to the unforeseen dangers.

All charges are merely accusations, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Conservation Officers were assisted on scene by Noblesville Police, Fire and EMS.
