Trooper Ginger Marshall Promoted to Sergeant

Indianapolis, IN – Superintendent Douglas Carter has announced the promotion of Trooper Ginger Marshall to the position of Sergeant in the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit. Marshall was the successful candidate of a promotion process that included a written test, an oral interview and a culmination of seniority, education and overall job performance.

Sergeant Marshall is a native of Seymour Indiana and a 1993 graduate of Seymour High School. She went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Ball State University in 1997. She was selected to attend the 69th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy and was appointed as a Trooper December 18th, 2008. Upon graduating from the academy, Marshall was assigned to the Indianapolis District where she primarily patrolled Marion County until being assigned to the Special Investigations Section in 2014. During her time on the department Ginger has been member of the Meth Suppression Team, the Tactical Intervention Platoon as well as a member of the State Police Honor Guard. She is a Hostage Crises Negotiator and has served as a counselor for two state police academy classes. For the past five years Sergeant Marshall has specialized in internet crimes against children cases. 

In her new position she will supervise a group of investigators assigned to the special investigations unit. She will review reports, assist other investigators and continue to lead investigations of her own.

Sergeant Marshall resides in Hendricks County with her wife and son.
