Town of Brownsburg Invites Community to Give Input for Comprehensive Plan Update

Members of the community are invited to participate in the Town’s Comprehensive Plan update by using an interactive mapping tool to tell us what you like about Brownsburg and what needs to be done to help guide its growth.

Visit the Comp Plan Update website to access the mapping tool. Click on the “Create Your Map” button to register and sign in to get started. Eleven different maps can be viewed identifying community assets, problem intersections, public safety concerns and more. Users can also view what other participants identify as important issues facing Brownsburg’s future growth. Use the “Help” button in the upper right corner of the screen for a tutorial to help you get started.

The Comp Plan, adopted in 2012, is the municipality’s official guide for land use and development over the next 10 to 15 years. The plan is based on community consensus, vision, existing conditions and future potential. It includes community-wide plans for growth, transportation and mobility, open space and environmental features, community facilities and infrastructure. Many of the action items recommended in the 2012 Plan have been accomplished, so it’s time to think about new goals and objectives.
