Tom Mullen receives Indiana Builders Association’s highest award

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indiana Builders Association (IBA) recently awarded the 2015 John C. Hart Presidential Award to Tom Mullen of Indianapolis. Mullen is the owner and president of Thomas E. Mullen & Associates, Inc. and served as 2014 IBA President.

The award is named in honor of John C. Hart, Sr. who served as Chairman of the Indiana House Ways and Means Committee in the early 1970s. Hart is also the only Hoosier to serve as President of the National Association of Home Builders and one of five Hoosiers inducted into the National Housing Hall of Fame.

“The John C. Hart Presidential Award is given to a select few who have made extraordinary contributions to the housing industry, the association and their community,” said 2015 IBA President Linda Rogers. “I am honored to present Tom with this award recognizing his commitment and dedication.”

Mullen was president of Global Housing Group, Inc., where he was a consultant to foreign governments and private organizations on residential housing matters. He was active in the Philippines, Russia, Turkey and Vietnam.

Tom is a Past Secretary of the International Housing Association, an organization of 13 countries representing government and private housing related entities.

Tom’s wife, Sarah Huff, accepted the award on his behalf at the IBA December Board of Directors Meeting.
