Rollover Crash Claims One Life and Injuries Two

Vermillion County—On Wednesday evening October 18 at approximately 7:25, Indiana State Police and Vermillion County emergency agencies responded to a one-vehicle rollover crash on State Road 163 just west of SR 63. The crash claimed the life of the driver and injured two passengers.

Deceased:  Jayson R. Wallace, age 46, of Clinton, IN.                   Family notified

 

Injured passengers were Corlin A.W. Yowell, age 20, of Clinton, IN. and Dalton T. Creasey, age 19, of Hillsdale, IN. Both were transported to Union Hospital of Clinton for what was believed to be minor injuries.

 

Preliminary investigation revealed Wallace was operating a 1999 Toyota Corolla eastbound on SR 163 just west of the SR 63, when he lost control, traveled across the westbound lanes, entered a ditch area, and began rolling several times before coming to rest inverted in a field.

 

The crash was investigated by ISP Senior Trooper Ted Robertson. Assisting were Black Diamond Fire/Rescue, Clinton Fire/Rescue, Vermillion County Coroner’s Office, Vermillion County EMS, Montezuma Police Department, and Clinton Ford Wrecker Service.

 

Alcohol and speed may have been a factor in this crash. Toxicology results are pending and could take approximately four weeks. Seatbelts were in use by all three.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
