Rokita: Taking the Fight Back to the Bad Guys

WASHINGTON, DC- Today, Congressman Rokita released a statement following the House passage of the Fiscal Year 2019 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA):

Our military is finally empowered to take the fight back to the bad guys,” said Congressman Todd Rokita. “The days of the Obama administration’s neglect in hollowing out the funds and resources of our military members are over. We are now providing our men and women in uniform with a well-deserved pay raise – the largest in nine years – and the needed training and resources to reinforce our reputation as the most revered military on earth.”

  • Supporting President Trump’s request to modernize our military with new equipment to replace outdated and broken equipment.  We cannot be looking to museums for replacement parts for military equipment.
  • Supporting President Trump’s request for missile defenses, especially in light of the threats posed by nations like North Korea and Iran.
  • Placing an emphasis on policy and programs to advance emerging threats – cyber, space, artificial intelligence, influence operation, hypersonics, and more.
  • Reforming and calling for a comprehensive review “4th Estate” bureaucracies, which are a collection of almost 30 defense agencies that are not part of a military Service and are directly accountable to the Secretary of Defense.
