Magnus is the son of Claudine and Keith Magnus. He graduated from Butler University in 2025 with a major in political science and minors in creative writing and business law.

“This has been a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” Magnus said. “It has given me greater insight into the innerworkings of state politics.”

As a legislative intern, Magnus corresponded with constituents through phone calls, letters and emails while also staffing committee hearings and floor proceedings.

“The professionalism that Jace shows early in his career is notable,” Thompson said. “He understands that reliability here at the Statehouse is what sets an intern apart.”

Each year, the Indiana House offers paid, full-time, spring semester internship opportunities to college students, recent graduates and students in graduate and law school during the legislative session.
