Plainfield Optimists honor local law enforcement

Plainfield Optimists celebrated with local law enforcement on Thursday, August 27th, as Plainfield Police Lieutenant Gary Tanner and Hendricks County Sheriff’s Deputy Sam Chandler were honored for their outstanding efforts in law enforcement.

Plainfield Police Chief Darel Krieger presented 2015 Officer of the Year to Lieutenant Tanner, and Hendricks County Sheriff Brett Clark presented 2015 Deputy of the Year to Deputy Chandler who serves as a K-9 officer.
Lieutenant Tom Moore from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy spoke to guests about challenges of the modern day law enforcement officer and the progression of the police force in today’s world of social media and advanced technology.
