CLAYTON – On 02/08/2025 at approximately 4:06 pm, Hendricks County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of US 40 and SR 39.
Preliminary investigation indicates a black Chrysler 300, occupied by two, was traveling eastbound on US 40. A white Lincoln MKZ, occupied by 4, was traveling westbound on US 40. At the intersection of US 40 and SR 39, the Lincoln MKZ, failed to yield the right of way and attempted to turn south and was struck by the Chrysler 300.
The female passenger of the Chrysler 300 was transported to Eskenazi Hospital via ambulance but was pronounced dead while enroute. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notifications to her family.
The driver of the white Lincoln MKZ, Tiffany Poole of Clayton, was transported to Hendricks Regional Hospital, where a blood draw was performed. Tiffany Poole was then transported to the Hendricks County Jail where she was booked-in on the charge of Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death. The results of the blood draw are pending.
