North Green Street Redesign Construction in Brownsburg Starts May 14

BROWNSBURG – Construction on the redesign project for N. Green Street in the downtown redevelopment area begins May 14.  Both lanes of the road will be closed to traffic north of Lucas Drive to 56th Street through 4th quarter 2018.

N. Green south of Lucas Drive will be open to both northbound and southbound traffic. Lucas Drive will be open to Arbuckle Acres park visitors. Motorists are urged to use Northfield Drive to detour the construction zone.

The redesign of the town’s primary north/south arterial will add a dedicated left-turn lane, sidewalks and bike lanes. The $6.1 million project is 52 percent federally-funded through the Highway Safety Improvement Program.

Additional infrastructure improvements underway include the construction of a new centrally-located Arbuckle Acres entrance, the extension of Enderly Avenue and Mill Street, and the installation of a new stoplight at 56th and Grant streets.
