Murder suspect apprehended in Wisconsin and extradited back to Indianapolis to face murder charges

INDIANAPOLIS – On June 14, 2015 at approximately 11:09 p.m., officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were dispatched to the 3500 block of North Shadeland Avenue. Two unidentified black males depicted in the attachment are wanted in reference to a homicide that occurred at the Rodeway Inn.

The first suspect depicted  was wearing a black T-shirt and white pants. The second suspect was wearing a black tank top and shorts outfit with multi-colored faces on the shirt. They are shown in surveillance video images from the Thornton’s gas station located at 7020 E. Pendleton Pike prior to the homicide. They are also seen fleeing eastbound immediately after the incident in which the victim was shot and killed in his room at the  Rodeway Inn.

20-year-old murder suspect Cordero Pinex was arrested in Wisconsin reference a warrant charging him with Murder and Carrying a Handgun without a Licenses.  The suspect was extradited back to Indianapolis and booked into the Arrestee Processing Center to face formal charges on Tuesday, February 23, 2016.

The suspect is alleged to have shot and killed 30-year-old Joshua Neloms in June of 2015.  Detectives obtained a warrant in 2015 however the suspect was able to evade arrest until his eventual capture in Wisconsin this month.
