Indianapolis, IN – A carjacking in Clermont led to a multiple county crime spree, a police chase and now a search for three suspects.
At approximately midnight the victim was pumping gas at a Speedway Gas Station in Clermont when he was approached by two black males armed with handguns. His white Hummer H2 was stolen and later reportedly involved in two armed robberies. The first occurred at a hotel in Seymour Indiana and the second at a gas station in Columbus Indiana. After the second robbery, Trooper Kory Clark saw the white Hummer in the area of SR 46 and I-65 in Bartholomew County and a chase ensued. The pursuit continued north on I-65 through Johnson County and into southern Marion County where the suspect crashed at 3:51 a.m. near an apartment complex at Stop 12 and Madison Avenue.
The first suspect is described as a white male approximately 6′ tall wearing a black hooded sweatshirt or jacket and black face mask.
The second suspect is described as a black male, 5’7″-5’9″ wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt, khaki pants with white tennis shoes and wearing a red knit hat.
The third suspect is a black male approximately 5’5″-5’7″ wearing all black with a knit hat with red and white stripes and wearing gloves with red stripes.
The suspects are considered armed and dangerous, if located please call 911 immediately. Police are still actively searching the area of Stop 12 and Madison Avenue. Police have recovered one handgun at the scene.
All suspects are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
