Man Struck by Vehicle on I-65 While Running From Police

A man is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle on I-65 while he was running from a state trooper. The man has been identified as 26 year old Timothy Williams Jr of New Castle Indiana.

The incident began when a trooper pulled up to assist a disabled vehicle on I-65. While speaking to the occupants of the car the trooper could smell marijuana coming from inside. When he asked the female driver and the male passenger for identification the male presented a false I.D. When asked to step out of the car Williams shoved the trooper and ran away, he jumped the median wall and was struck by a southbound car. It was discovered Williams Jr. has a warrant for his arrest for child molestation. This incident is still under investigation and there is no further information to release at this time.

All suspects are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
